Empathy in Action: How Devin and Volunteers Transform Lives at Bridge
Empathy and respect for diversity shine through in Bridge volunteers like Devin. As an occupational therapist, Devin dedicates himself to assisting patients and their families. Beyond his professional duties, he cherishes time coaching sports with his sons.
Six years ago, Devin stumbled upon Bridge’s Meyer Medical Equipment Center (MMEC) while searching for equipment for one of his patients. Intrigued by MMEC’s mission of refurbishing donated equipment for those in need, he became a regular supporter. Now, whenever his patients require medical equipment, Bridge is his first stop.
Through our MMEC, we address the gap in accessible mobility equipment for low-income individuals. By refurbishing and distributing donated equipment, we alleviate financial and accessibility barriers. This supports healthcare organizations, social service agencies, other nonprofits, and professionals like Devin, by providing a sustainable and affordable solution for their clients’ mobility needs.
Volunteers like Devin are critical to our work. In 2023, Bridge engaged 556 volunteers. Because of your support, along with the dedication of our volunteers and donors, we were able to make a difference in the lives of nearly 3,000 individuals. Thank you for your generosity!
