October Volunteer Spotlight – Conde Holt
Conde has been such a faithful and reliable volunteer in the Meyer Medical Equipment Center over the years. Her willingness to do whatever needs to be done and her kind and gracious personality are always a plus in the very busy and usually hectic equipment center!
We want to honor her contributions and give you the opportunity to know a little bit more about this dynamic volunteer. Here is her story:
Conde’s first encounter with Bridge Ministries was back in November 1999, when it was located in Kirkland. The purpose was to obtain medical equipment for a close friend. While Conde was at Bridge, she was impressed by how customers were being helped, and so she asked about being a volunteer. She was given a volunteer application and the rest is history!
Conde was born and raised on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. After high school, she traveled to Boston to attend Mount Ida Junior College. She later moved to San Francisco for business college and worked there for several years. In 1985, Conde arrived in Seattle where she established a career in administration.
It was in 1992 that Conde met her husband, and they married that same year. This means that this year they will have spent 30 years together and that is a milestone worth celebrating! And as she thinks of this, she says a certain song comes to mind: “Looks Like We Made It!” Congrats Conde!
Although Conde has spent many years volunteering at Bridge, she has also devoted volunteer time to other organizations such as Purrfect Pals, a cat sanctuary. She is a dog (very small dogs) and cat lover, and she also enjoys crocheting, knitting, and traveling.
And we have one more milestone to celebrate with Conde this year- this month of October she will turn 70 years old! Happy Birthday!
We celebrate you Conde not only for your compassionate and giving spirit but also for your willingness to help when and where needed. Our equipment center has greatly benefited from your dedication.
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7
