A Valuable Community Resource
Providing mobility items such as wheelchairs, walkers, commodes, bath benches etc. at no cost to those who can’t afford it is a valuable resource within our community. The population of the area served is expected to grow 15% over the next five years and we know that 20% of our population is living with a disability with 40% assumed to be living below the poverty level.
Mobility helps to alleviate isolation and allows people to participate and move more freely within their community. Gaining better access to basic needs, resources, jobs, education and other opportunities promotes awareness and greater independence.
Expect Compassion and Hospitality
When visiting our center, expect to be greeted with compassion and hospitality by a caring and dedicated volunteer. At Bridge, we know that whether donating after the loss of a loved one or receiving items, persons served are almost always facing grief and or daily challenges in self-care or caring for a person with a disability.
Along with our Volunteers, we are grateful for the individuals and organizations who are able to support our ministry with their in-kind and financial gifts. Our Volunteers go through a repair process to assure that the equipment distributed is fully functional and ready to serve the needs of those less fortunate in our disabled community.
